As the little old lady ahead of us through the door said, "This place is hoppin'!" Mesomaya on Preston road was buzzing with activity last night. The food was fairly typical, perfectly respectable Tex-mex with good rice and delicious mojitos. We got dessert too, and the sugar on those churros is almost too sweet to handle. Megan did say she was a little more impressed with the inner Dallas location. |
Book Review
However, the book does deliver on the shark scenes. Any time the shark emerges, you'll feel your hair stand up. Benchley does a good job hiding his monster and stoking an Ahab-like obsession in his characters who set out to avenge the deaths in the town. Despite the overall lackluster imagery of the book, when the great white appears, Benchley waxes poetic as the book of Job about the leviathan in the deep. Additionally, Natalie thought the end of the book was more satisfying and intriguing than the end of the movie. Da-dum.
